He present thesis addresses the revaluation of the town of Camarones through two cultural manifestations: The Salmon Festival and the Perón Family Museum, as local identity symbols. It is proposed to analyze these two cultural manifestations as identity elements of local value for this town. The organizational objectives of the Festival have been changing over the last 44 years since its creation in aspects linked to tourism and sports, enabling different modes of relationship that contribute to the identification and projection of the community. While the most recently created cultural manifestation of the Perón Family Museum, the most significant aspects that favored its origin, its intention of creation and its role within the town were investigated. The working hypothesis for the Salmon Festival is that it was born from the social actors of Camarones together with others from Trelew in 1980, to promote the town for tourism and revalue the cultural and tourist practices linked to the sea and fishing in the town (First hypothesis). The other, however, the Perón Family Cultural Center and museum, was promoted externally by the provincial government in 2007, within a democratic context. This initiative highlights the presence of the political leader's family in Patagonia, as a strategy to strengthen the imprint of the place as a setting for national history (Second hypothesis). Both cultural manifestations, the Salmon Festival and the Perón Family Museum, currently form a central part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the town of Camarones, representing socially significant identity symbols and enriching the value of that territory (Third hypothesis). From this investigation, the cultural rescue stands out, which consists of the compilation of testimonies to put together the history of the Salmon Festival. Likewise, the collection of voices, analysis of the museum creation project and the emphasis placed on its projection in the community not only as a Museum but also as the first Shrimp Cultural Center is valuable.
