Una mirada de las transformaciones de los territorios nacionales de Chubut y Santa Cruz desde lo toponímico, lo geográfico y lo histórico

Abstract

La presente tesis de maestría, pretende enfocar la temática sobre las transformaciones territoriales de la Patagonia, durante la etapa de los Territorios Nacionales, desarrollada entre finales del siglo XIX y primeras décadas del siglo XX, ya que, durante la misma, se transformó en un escenario complejo que permite realizar un estudio socio territorial a partir de dos áreas de conocimiento: la geografía y la historia, las que me permitirán analizar el territorio desde lo geográfico, para luego incorporar los hechos históricos acontecidos. Los Territorios Nacionales que se abordarán, serán los de Chubut y Santa Cruz, siendo, las denominaciones de los topónimos de los departamentos de los mismos; la temática sobre la cual se desarrollará la presente investigación, lo que me permitirá explicar que dichos territorios, más allá de ser un recorte espacio-temporal, son un área de investigación, en la que es posible descubrir nuevos temas, para aportar, así una nueva mirada sobre estos, durante la etapa de conformación del Estado Nacional. Asimismo, esta mirada se complementará con diferentes categorías de análisis, entre ellas: toponimia, territorio y departamentos, que serán utilizadas para explicar la conformación territorial, a través de la cartografía, realizada durante la construcción del Estado. Además, se explicará, como, se diseñó la toponimia departamental de los Territorios Nacionales de Chubut y Santa Cruz. Estos sucesos, implicarán que se presente, una lucha discursiva entre diferentes estructuras: la estatal a nivel nacional y la de los territorios, lugares en que los imaginarios sociales se entremezclaron en la búsqueda de otorgarles una identidad a dichos territorios. Por lo tanto, a partir de lo expresado, el método que mejor articula la perspectiva teórica de esta tesis de maestría, es la investigación cualitativa, con la que lograré establecer la relación entre el problema de investigación, el contexto conceptual y los fundamentos epistemológicos, que me permitirán responder los interrogantes planteados y establecer así, ese nuevo enfoque, en relación con las transformaciones de dichos territorios, a través de una mirada desde: lo toponímico, lo geográfico y lo histórico.This master's thesis aims to focus on the territorial transformations of Patagonia during the period of the National Territories, developed between the end of the 19th century and the first decades of the 20th century, since during this period it became a complex scenario that allows for a socio-territorial study based on two areas of knowledge: geography and history, which will allow me to analyze the territory from a geographical point of view, and then incorporate the historical events that occurred. The National Territories that will be addressed will be Chubut and Santa Cruz, being the names of the toponyms of the departments of the same; the theme on which this research will be developed, which will allow me to explain that said territories, beyond being a space-time cut, are an area of research, in which it is possible to discover new topics, to contribute, thus, a new look at these, during the stage of formation of the National State. This approach will also be complemented by different categories of analysis, including: toponymy, territory and departments, which will be used to explain the territorial conformation through the cartography carried out during the construction of the State. In addition, it will be explained how the departmental toponymy of the National Territories of Chubut and Santa Cruz was designed. These events will imply the presentation of a discursive struggle between different structures: the state at the national level and that of the territories, places where social imaginaries were intertwined in the search to give an identity to said territories. Therefore, based on what has been expressed, the method that best articulates the theoretical perspective of this master's thesis is qualitative research, with which I will establish the relationship between the research problem, the conceptual context and the epistemological foundations, which will allow me to answer the questions raised and thus establish this new approach, in relation to the transformations of these territories, through a look from: the toponymic, the geographical and the historical.
